Bio
Keegan Porter is a highly caffeinated recording and mixing engineer based in the GTA, specializing in making records with cool people, loud amplifiers that move air, traditional and unconventional recording techniques, and quoting The Sopranos like it’s a second job. He’s a hopeless romantic—for anything with an AC current—and will happily chew your ear off about the best mic placement for a snare drum (and twelve other ways of doing it).
When he’s not wrangling equipment older than your dad, Keegan loves spending his days recording awesome Rock, Garage, indie Rock and punk projects! He has worked with his fair share of Jazz and Classical projects too!
(He once claimed to have made an entire record in a walk in fridge.. this has yet to be corroborated)
His holy trinity is: massive drums, unapologetic distortion, and The Jerky Boys. Basically, if it makes noise and goes “BOOM” “Blam” “Thud” or “Splat” Keegan is intrigued, but he still loves recording a great string or brass section too!
Fair warning, he will do the extra hours to make sure each project lives up to, and exceeds expectations! (Keegan has no Grammys)
